This has been a hard time for those that love ACGS, Christine, and Morgan.
Non-profits are often victims of exploitation by unethical board members and employees. It's no stretch to see that Christine's termination from ACGS was motivated by individual desires. There was no citation of performance issues, only vehement personal attacks. It's become clear that at least one board member hopes to gain a paid position at the school out of the dismissal. While it's terrible to see our beloved little school abused for personal gain and deprived of its dedicated founders, such an occurrence is woefully common. The founders will move on.
5/8/18: It was discovered that the board has continued to openly disparage Christine and her supporters.
Response to the legal demand for documentation and reparation was due today. There has been none. Sadly, this means the chances for a peaceful resolution are seriously diminished.

4/25/18: A legal review of Christine's documentation has confirmed exactly what was suspected: not only was she was terminated without cause, breaching her employment contract, but communications with her and about her reveal personal prejudice, discrimination, and harassment on the part of the board. The board has been notified by the law firm of the issues, and a response is required in early May.
4/19/18: In an especially troubling new development, the current board has decided to divert tonight's re-election meeting, and attempt to hold a vote that will allow the current board members to remain in position, even though many of them will no longer have children at the school. Not only does this defeat the democratic spirit of the school's organization, it is directly contrary to the school's 501(3)c by-laws. When by-laws are not followed, the corporation is in violation of state law, and becomes subject to complaint to the attorney General's Office, legal action, and even dissolution.

3/13/18: The reasons for Christine's abrupt dismissal from the school she founded are unclear; particularly given that she had been working without pay for months in an effort to help the school recover from its current financial crisis. In early March 20+ ACGS community members assembled their own open Emergency Membership Meeting with the goal of understanding the board's decision. By the end of the meeting many were still unclear on the reasons for the dismissal; whether it was justified or even legal. At least one family has withdrawn from the school as a result of the board's action.
